About Stephen

Stephen is 35-years-old, a father and husband. He is a bank manager in Virginia Beach, VA, recently moved from Raleigh, NC, and originally from San Francisco, CA.

HOW HE USED GARAGE GYM ATHLETE

For most of his life, he has been in the weight room doing basic lifts for high school wrestling, then joined CrossFit in 2018. He then fell in love with what he now knows as concurrent training. He's been with Garage Gym Athlete since the beginning of March 2020 and hasn't looked back since.

Results

Some of his improvements: 1 Mile run from 9:42 to 8:54(down 48 seconds); consecutive strict pull ups from 8 to 12(up 4); vested Murph from 1:15 to 1:11(down 4); and body weight from 215 to 210(down 5).

HIS BEST ADVICE FOR GARAGE GYM ATHLETES…

Don’t give up. As much as you hate wanting to do a workout or thing it’s going to be painful so just ‘embrace the suck.’ No matter what it’s going to hurt so you may as well make it work for you.
