About

Autonomous Athletes.Better Humans.

In short, Garage Gym Athlete is about building autonomous athletes and better humans through intentional discomfort. Here's the not-so-short version.

What we're about

Killing comfort, with a team behind you

More people are working out at home than ever before, but they don't look, feel, or perform how they want. We get it. You want RESULTS from a simple program that won't take hours, so you can handle anything life throws at you: playing with your kids, being healthier, and the ability to do cool stuff.

Your time is limited and equipment may be sparse, but that's not the most challenging part. Overcoming the extreme OVERWHELM in fitness and nutrition is more complicated than it has ever been. And comfort is trying to sneak its way into your life any way it can. When it does, you feel undisciplined and unproductive. Fighting that process is no easy task, but you rewire the type of person you are day by day when you do hard things. We call that killing comfort.

And we are here to help. We want to give you a sense of relief knowing there is a team behind you, guiding you every step of the way toward autonomy. A team invested in your long-term success and education. We understand garage gym athletes because we are a veteran-owned team of garage gym athletes: we give you the plan, the program, an easy-to-use app, and a ton of educational resources to get the job done.

The plan is simple: sign up, train, track, see results. We take all the thinking out of seeing progress. Follow the recommendations, stay consistent, and seeing results is as simple as following a GPS in your car.

We've been at this a while

Programming for athletes online since 2011. More than 25,000 athletes coached and 10 million workouts delivered. The Garage Gym Athlete book published in 2016, and over $35,000 donated to charity as a community along the way.

The payoff

What training with us gets you

More energy, better overall health, a clear mind, stronger and faster performance, and more confidence. Here is how.

  • 01

    A goal-based program

Not random workouts. A program built toward a goal, with a supportive community around it and results you can put a date on.

  • 02

    The most effective hour

Fitness can be complicated, and not all programs are created equal. High-intensity training done daily can wreck you. We give you the most effective hour in fitness, backed by science.

  • 03

    From average to athlete

From overwhelmed, inconsistent, and unsure the steps you take even move you forward, to healthier, autonomous, and confident. Slowly and unknowingly, we move you from average to an athlete.

The methodology

Methodology, not random workouts

The fitness industry is a scary place. But not here. No shortcuts or easy fixes: optimal training and a dialed-in lifestyle approach based on research and data.

Garage Gym Athlete runs on the End of Three Fitness (EO3) programming methodology; EO3 is also the parent company of GGA. While End of Three Fitness focuses on educating coaches, Garage Gym Athlete is focused on implementing the EO3 Method at a large scale. It stands on three tenets, plus one that is optional but famous.

Tenet #1

EO3 Elements

The workout is one hour. Recovery is the other 23. The EO3 Elements are nine daily habits that decide whether the work you put in actually turns into results: sleep, hydration, nutrition, blood flow, sun, digestion, meal timing, warm-up and cool-down, and downregulation. In the app you check off each Element you hit that day. Aim for 7 of 9.

We don't care what program you follow (well, we'd prefer it be ours); the Elements are the prerequisites to your success. No exceptions. You cannot out-train bad sleep, bad food, and chronic stress, and no coach who tells you otherwise is doing you a favor.

Tenet #2

Concurrent Training

Most training makes you good at one thing. A powerlifter cannot run. A marathoner cannot lift. Concurrent training rejects that trade: strength and endurance, built in the same week, on purpose. It is the only style of training we know of that delivers performance today and longevity over decades at the same time.

In practice that means every training day targets a specific quality and a specific movement pattern, and the programming tracks both so nothing gets neglected. There are 13 of each. Cover the full map over time and you get an athlete with no glaring weakness.

Tenet #3

Body Geometry

Through more than a decade of coaching and over 10 million workouts delivered, we created Body Geometry: the tenet that keeps athletes safe, healthy, and moving well for the long haul. Balanced pushing and pulling, honest single-leg and trunk work, and the durability training most programs quietly skip.

Fix small imbalances before they become injuries and increase the efficiency and quality of how you move, and you get to keep training. That is the whole point.

The optional tenet

Meet Yourself Saturday

We do REALLY hard workouts. On Saturday. The kind of workouts that make you "meet yourself", where you start to question if you should quit, slow down, or tap out. Make no mistake: our training will improve you just as much mentally as it will physically.
